The strand can easily be shortened by cutting off the excess lights. On my finished sample, I used only the first three lights on the strand and cut off the remaining excess. Be sure to position and test your lights before cutting the strand so you know exactly how many lights you would like to use.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe faux frosted glass for the French doors is intentionally left unattached so you can easily paint and finish the doors first. Once your paint and finish are completely dry, simply glue the faux frosted glass to the back of the door windows.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLighting Tip:\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e I recommend painting the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eback side of the French doors black\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e before attaching the faux glass. This helps prevent the micro lights from shining through the 3D printed door itself and keeps the illumination concentrated within the window openings for a cleaner, more realistic finished look.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe included faux frosted glass helps diffuse the individual micro lights and creates the softer, warm glow shown in my finished sample.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFor assembling the 3D printed pieces on my sample, I used \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eGorilla Super Glue Gel\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eFor attaching the faux ivy and miniature dried autumn leaves, I used \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAleene’s Turbo Tacky Glue\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. The water-based tacky glue gives you additional working time to arrange the delicate foliage before it dries.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe ivy and autumn leaves can be arranged however you like. On my finished sample, I lightly toned down some of the brighter leaves with antiquing glaze to give them a softer, more naturally aged appearance.
